Job Summary
- This position is a per diem part-time position working week-day evenings and weekends and provides educational and emotional support to Women’s Health Services (WHS) patients. This position leads prenatal and postnatal patient education classes, support groups and information/education sessions in a variety of Hartford Hospital settings.

- Responsibilities: · Provides educational support to parents and families attending prenatal and postnatal classes according to developed curricula and guidelines. · Provides emotional, physical and education support for perinatal patients on a one-to-one basis. · Offers feedback to the program regarding operations, supplies and individual patient needs. · Performs other related duties as required.
- · High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4-year degree in health science preferred. · Experience working with expectant mothers and new families.
- Patient teaching experience in perinatal or women’s health services preferred. · CT DPH Certified Doula required. · Certification in area of specialty (IBCLC, Certified Lactation Counselor, Prepared Childbirth Education-PCE) preferred. · Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
