Job description

  • Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Catholic PreK–8 school in Glen Burnie, MD, seeks a passionate and child-centered 5th-grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
  • This individual will teach Math and Science, and possibly Social Studies.

  • Essential Functions
  • Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for students that adhere to the school’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop lesson plans with clear objectives aligned with the Archdiocesan curriculum.
  • Observe and assess student progress; maintain detailed records of academic performance and student behavior; and share this information with parents.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date gradebook at all times.
  • Communicate with parents and colleagues in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Support the mission of the school and the Catholic Church through instructional practices.
  • Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Math, Science, History, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience working with or teaching children preferred.
  • Alignment with and respect for the mission and values of Catholic education.
