Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Bolingbrook, Illinois. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with other educators, support staff, and families to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that ensures all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that each student's learning needs are met. Provide direct instruction and support to students with various learning disabilities in a classroom setting. Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and modify instructional strategies as necessary. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and develop strategies for student success. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and any necessary adjustments to IEPs. Participate in meetings and collaborate with the school’s multidisciplinary team (therapists, counselors, administrators) to support student development. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP progress in accordance with school and district policies. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations regarding special education.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred). Valid LBS1 teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities (K-12) preferred. Strong understanding of IEP development and the ability to implement individualized strategies for diverse learners. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. Compensation and Benefits: Hourly Pay: $35 - $55 per hour, based on experience.
