Lead Pre- K Teacher

Job Description

The Mt Airy Christian Day School is seeking an enthusiastic Pre-K teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of children. This teaching role includes planning, implementing, and assessing lessons. You will teach children with patience and creativity. This individual should be energetic and organized, with a desire to build authentic connections with children and families. Individuals need to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation. As a Preschool Classroom Teacher, you will work with children using the online Creative Curriculum and PA Early Learning Standards. You will develop engaging and interactive lesson plans based on the monthly theme.

Responsibilities

Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, art, and science, etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children’s progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s progress and development Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and organized classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

Knowledge of the ECE curriculum Ability to observe and assess children and plan and implement lesson plans based on the Creative Curriculum and the PA Early Learning Standards Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting strong customer service and the ability to interact effectively with parents/guardians Ability to maintain high-level standards of confidentiality regarding center, staff, and family matters Possess the commitment, desire, and interpersonal skills necessary to work in early childhood education Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and be a team player Participate in professional development to continuously improve job skills as per best practices in the ECE field
