Job description

  • Overview Allen College seeks applications for adjunct faculty for Fundamentals of Clinical Nursing.
  • In the clinical setting, the adjunct faculty provides education and supervision for the student consistent with established standards of care, as well as course and program objectives in collaboration with the course faculty.
  • The adjunct clinical faculty is supervised by the lead course faculty.
  • Salary is commensurate with academic credentials, teaching experience, and scholarly work.
  • In compliance with the Clery Act, Allen College publishes an Annual Security Report (ASR) containing three previous years of crime statistics, institutional policies concerning campus safety, and a fire safety report.

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities include: Provides instruction and supervision for assigned students. Assists faculty member in evaluation of students’ progress and competency. Provides a positive role model and professional attitude toward students and the teaching process. Maintains confidentiality in accord with college/program policy. Works effectively with the daily mental and physical stresses of the job which includes, but not limited to meeting deadlines, attending meetings, completing compliance requirements, meeting and working with staff, faculty, students and the public.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess RN licensure in the state of Iowa as required by accreditation regulations. Minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in nursing or related field required or enrollment in a graduate nursing or related field program required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in program discipline or 2 years recent clinical experience in area of teaching.
