  • SUMMARY: An Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist provides clinical skills instruction and behavior replacement protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community and clinic settings.

Responsibilities

1. Provide direct client therapy in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training procedures. 2. Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior replacement protocols. 3. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. 4. Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with family’s individualized treatment plan. 5. Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients. 6. Maintain client confidentiality. 7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment. 8. Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, supervisors, and co-workersQualificationsKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skillsets accordingly. Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard. Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols as written. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time. EXPERIENCE: Required: None Preferred: Experience working with children ages 0-10 in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational, Speech, or other therapy-related fields. EDUCATION: Required: Must be 18 years of age and have demonstrated completion of high school or equivalent/higher at the time of application. If applicant is applying from a country that does not offer a high school diploma equivalent, the applicant must demonstrate that they have remained in full-time education for the duration required in their country.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Language, or related field.
