Job description

Description St. John the Baptist Catholic School seeks a skilled and mission-driven Reading Interventionist to support students in developing strong foundational literacy skills. This role provides targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to small groups and individual students, helping ensure all learners grow toward proficiency. The Reading Interventionist plays a vital role in advancing our commitment to academic excellence and forming students in both mind and heart within a Christ-centered environment.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements (for posting) Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field Valid Colorado teaching license (or ability to obtain) READ Act training or willingness to obtain within the required timeline Experience delivering small-group or individualized literacy instruction Knowledge of foundational literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension) Ability to assess and monitor student progress using data

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, or related field Reading endorsement Training in structured literacy (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Science of Reading) Experience supporting students with reading deficiencies or READ plans Required

Hourly Rate

$17.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
