The specialist is responsible for delivering orientation and ongoing clinical education for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health units. They serve as a mentor and clinical resource to ensure staff provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's preferred, along with at least 2 to 3 years of clinical experience. Required certifications include CPR/BLS and various background clearances (Act 33, 34, 73).
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireUPMC approved certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
