Job description

Description Vacation Program (Camp) Teachers provide a range of enrichment opportunities, adventure, and fun to our preschool, elementary, and middle school students. Camp Teachers are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and fun environment during GISB vacation programming. The typical schedule for the summer camp is Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, or 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Program weeks include one week in February, one week in October, two weeks in April, and four weeks in July.

Responsibilities

You will work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Co-Curricular Programs Planning and leading a themed week (of your choice with your co-teacher) of activities such as arts & crafts, cooking, and science Maintaining safety and hygiene standards and executing vacation programming procedures under the direction of the Assistant Director Handling injuries and any first aid issues according to GISB procedures Execute GISB emergency procedures safely Leading and supervising field trips Creating a fun, respectful, inclusive and safe environment Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must-haves Experience working with children aged 3 - 10 Strong communication and organizational skills Resilience and empathy Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check Nice-to-haves German language skills are helpful but not required, as we do work to foster a bilingual environment CPR Certification- if needed that will be provided at a session before the Summer Program begins. If you are not able to attend the session, you will need to acquire the certification independently before the program begins
