Job description

✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Substitute Teacher- Part Time at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona ✨

Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).

What you will do

The Substitute Teacher is a member of the Education Department. Primarily responsible for filling in for teaching staff that is off duty, implementing and adhering to the principles of Positive Peer Culture and providing instructional services to students. Works collaboratively with staff in a supportive fashion emphasizing a positive attitude toward students, staff and program. Substitute Teachers reports to the principal and/or Assistant Principals.

To be considered you should

AA or BA/BS degree ~Valid Arizona Teaching credentials ~Related experience working with at-risk youth. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise students ~Ability to work in a cooperative and collaborative manner and demonstrate a positive work ethic. ~High School diploma or equivalent. ~At least 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health office environment ~ Experience and success in office management ~ If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. ~Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years ~Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
