Position Introduction

The University of Oklahoma Precollegiate Programs is seeking instructors to teach week-long academic enrichment courses for students participating in Summer 2026 programs, including Mini College (rising 1st – 6th), Horizons (rising 7th – 8th), and Project Crossroads (rising 9th – 12th).

Instructors lead engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences designed to introduce students to academic disciplines through hands-on activities, discussions, and collaborative projects. Courses may cover a wide range of subject areas including STEM, humanities, social sciences, arts, and interdisciplinary fields.

Summer programs are held on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus and typically run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction for a week-long academic course.
  • Develop a course outline including learning objectives, activities, and instructional materials.
  • Facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff and counselors to support student engagement and success.
  • Participate in required instructor orientation prior to the start of camp.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the instructional program.
