About Our College
- Galveston College is a comprehensive community college located on Galveston Island, just 40 miles south of Houston, Texas.

Duties
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in assigned subjects.
- Assist students in understanding course material, improving study skills, and preparing for exams.
- Create and maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Develop and utilize effective tutoring strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the Tutoring Center Coordinator.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to the college’s policies and procedures.
- Assist in promoting the services of the Tutoring Center to the campus community.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in the subject(s) to be tutored, evidenced by a grade of B or higher in those courses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and varying academic abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability.
- Teachability and determination to continue growing in quantity and quality of your skill set.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior Tutoring experience
