Location: 170 Pearl Street, Springfield, MA Hours/week: 15 hours per week; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (1pm to 6pm) Exemption: Non-exempt Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour *starting pay varies depending on experience and qualifications
- To assist the BTG Coordinator with the Bridging the Gap program.
Duties & Responsibilities
a) Help plan and assist Bridging the Gap Curriculum b) Review lesson plans and offer input c) Attend weekly staff meetings d) Attend at least one group per week as an observer e) Discuss each participant’s progress with BTG Coordinator and interns f) Maintain a document of all participant’s addresses g) Advocate for participants where necessary. h) Talk to participants as required/needed i) Handle and teach teens at Bridging the Gap with varying personal backgrounds j) Attend training sessions as required k) Coordinate with area colleges and graduate programs to recruit interns and volunteers. l) Represent The Salvation Army’s social mission in the Bridging the Gap program m) Refer persons with spiritual needs to The Salvation Army Corps Officer n) Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
