As an Adolescent Health Specialist, you will deliver SELF (Seeing and Exploring Life’s Future) sex ed curriculum to youth in school and community settings. Implement a comprehensive adolescent health program founded on youth development best practices that provide information and resources on adolescent health topics including pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS awareness, STI prevention, youth wellness, and more with youth and caring adults. Establish and maintain relationships with staff from school and community partners and provide technical consultation and program planning services to community partners as requested.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience that connects to the needs of the diverse communities served plus 1 year of experience working with youth or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Health, Youth Studies or related field plus 1 year experience working with youth
  • Driver’s license and insurance required as all education is done off-site.
  • Must have knowledge of adolescent development and comprehensive sexuality education and a high comfort level teaching sexuality education.
  • Strong preference for candidates proficient in Spanish, Hmong, or Somali.
