- Category: EducationEpiscopal Day School of St. Matthew seeks teachers for the Summer Academy program. Teachers will be responsible for assisting in planning and leading activities in the daily operation of the Summer program for grades K - 4 in fulfillment of the School’s mission, core values, and educational philosophy. Teachers will work closely with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate week-long programs which focus on alternating sports, coding and dance for children enrolled in the K - 4th grade 2025-2026 program. This is a temporary seasonal position which begins July 7, 2025 and ends on August 1, 2025.
- Weekly camp hours are
- Monday through
- Friday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, and might include morning care from 8:30 am - 9:00 am and afternoon care from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Hours for each week are not guaranteed, and depend upon student enrollment. Hours will be set by the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

- Responsibilities: Leading Supervising children on the Charles House Campus and/or Baldwin Campus Communicating with parents regarding program offerings and day-to-day communication Supporting the Summer team, managing the activities and movement of children during Program operating hours Facilitating Learning Working with Summer team members, staff, faculty, and/or outside vendors to develop and follow planned schedules and activities for the Summer program Collaborating Working with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and other faculty members to ensure consistency in care and routines for the children Working closely with parents and other teaching staff to resolve any issues that may arise in a sensitive and respectful fashion Supporting the school and its leadership Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School Skill and Abilities Possessing an engaging nature and love for children Consistent highly professional behavior, including acting with discretion, good judgment, and integrity Dedicated work ethic; proactive, responsible, reliable, punctual, and attentive to deadlines Effective time management skills with the ability to manage, organize and prioritize work Excellent oral and written communication skills High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Suite) accompanied by a willingness to learn new technologies Ability to work independently Flexibility with regard to changes in the program calendar and schedule Ability to display strong initiative, internal motivation, and a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly defined. Qualifications Associates Degree, High School diploma or equivalent Prior experience in either teaching or child-care with young children is a must If working with K students, must have at least 12 Early Childhood Education Units Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as a team player with colleagues in the faculty and administration

- Environment: Work is in an active, fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and various contacts. Must be able to move safely and comfortably over a large campus regularly. May stand for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours per day). Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment and outside in weather ranging from cold and wet to hot (80+ degrees). Ability to safely and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. And regularly lift up to 10 lbs. Regularly sit, talk, walk, hear and interact with students, parents, staff and visitors. Regularly use close and distance vision. Turn, bend, reach and occasionally use a step ladder. Must comply with all federal and state vaccination requirements or proof of eligibility for exemption.

- Wage: This position is a non-exempt seasonal temporary hourly position, up to 8 hours a day. Hourly wage is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
