Description Summer Camp Counselor
Join our vibrant team as a Gretchen's House Summer Camp Counselor and play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for K-5th grade children during their summer break. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds, foster teamwork, and develop leadership skills while making a positive impact on campers' lives. Work schedule: 25-35 hours/week, based on field trip schedules. Must be available Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of recreational, educational, and outdoor activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and teamwork
- Assist in planning and organizing daily activities, games, and special events
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating good behavior and communication skills
- Address camper needs and concerns promptly and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and camp facilities

Requirements
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing situations
- Responsible, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp start)
- Flexibility to work during summer months, including weekends and evenings if required
- Passion for working with children and creating memorable summer experiences
- Chauffeur or CDL license preferred, but not required
- Must be available to work through August 28th.
- Immunization requirements: must provide updated TB results and proof of MMR, Tdap, Hep B, Varicella
