Position Summary

The Residential Teacher provides standards-aligned academic instruction within a residential care setting. This role combines classroom teaching with mentorship and collaboration alongside residential counselors, clinicians, and case managers. The ideal candidate is flexible, trauma-informed, and passionate about helping youth overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Academic Support Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with state standards Provide individualized instruction to meet IEP and 504 plan requirements Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records Support credit recovery, tutoring, and academic skill-building Student Development Foster a safe, structured, and trauma-informed classroom environment Support social-emotional learning and positive behavior development Serve as a consistent mentor and advocate for students Compliance & Documentation Maintain compliance with state education regulations Complete required documentation and progress reports in a timely manner Skills & Competencies Patience, resilience, and adaptability Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to maintain professional boundaries Commitment to equity, inclusion, and youth advocacy

Qualifications
