Title: Assistant Youth Program Facilitator

Status: Temporary, Full Time (30 hours per week), two available positions

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reporting Relationship: Director of Youth Services

Program/Department: Community Kids

Salary Range: $18/Hour

Position Description

An Assistant Youth Program Facilitator supports the Youth Program Facilitators in delivering high quality out of school time programming for youth enrolled in Keystone's Community Kids Program.

The anticipated hours for this position are

  • Monday -
  • Friday: 12pm - 6pm.

This position is temporary in nature and is anticipated to end on August 17th, 2026, however may end at any time.

Essential Functions: 95% Program Facilitation

  • Program Coordination & Lesson Planning
  • Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of age-appropriate academic support, enrichment, and recreational activities for summer programming.
  • Uses Student participation and assessment data to inform lesson planning and program improvements.
  • Collaborates with Youth Services Director and colleagues to connect families to Keystone services and support.
  • Assists with planning and facilitating family events and meetings.
  • Assists with registration materials, program schedules, and outreach efforts.
  • Health, Safety, & Transportation
  • Maintains awareness of student health needs, allergies, and emergency protocols.
  • Ensures safe arrivals and departures of youth.
  • Assists with transportation coordination for daily programming and field trips, including driving agency vehicles as needed.
  • Professional Development
  • Participates in supervision, trainings, department meetings, and agency initiatives.
  • Contributes to continuous program improvement and staff development.
  • 5% - Other Duties
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid Minnesota’s Drivers License and ability to drive agency vehicles.
  • Previous experience working in a youth enrichment setting.
  • Strong lesson planning, classroom management, and youth engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple programs or departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a second language such as: Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, or Spanish.
  • Experience with Extended Day Learning or school based partnerships is preferred.

Physical/Mental Requirements & Equipment Used

Physical working conditions require that the person be able to participate in youth program activities. May require lifting and moving program supplies. During program, frequent standing and walking around classroom, gym, or playground is required. Driving a Keystone vehicle is a requirement of this position.

Mental requirements include ability to assist students with homework; and verbal communication ability to professionally interact with Keystone staff, youth, and families, community residents and staff from other organizations.
