  • The Visiting Teaching Professor in Athletic Training at Colorado Mesa University is responsible for supporting the mission and culture of the University, Department of Kinesiology and athletic training program. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a one-year, full-time, teaching professor position commencing in August 2026. This role is specific to our CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. This pivotal role places a strong emphasis on teaching and advising, embodying the core values of our institution. As a Visiting Professor in Athletic Training, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and professional development of our graduate students within the MSAT program. This is a 9-month position with an option to teach in the summer for additional pay. The average teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Instructing courses for the MSAT Program and other athletic training-related undergraduate courses within the Department of Kinesiology.
  • Courses may include: Administration in Athletic Training (MSAT) General Health Conditions and Pharmacology (MSAT) Clinical Evaluation of Head and Spine Injuries (MSAT) Prevention/Care of Athletic Injuries (Department of Kinesiology) Therapeutic Interventions (Department of Kinesiology) Medical Conditions and Pharmacology in the Physically Active (Department of Kinesiology) Other courses as needed depending on qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Required: Masters degree in Athletic Training or a closely related field from an accredited institution required. BOC certification as an athletic trainer Licensure as an athletic trainer, or eligibility for CO licensure College/university-level teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications
