Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in educationor equivalent with Florida Teacher Certification.
  • Knowledgeableand experienced with the MTSS process.
  • Previousexperiencepreferred.
  • Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification preferred for working with Tier 3 readinggroups.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and interpret assessment datatodetermineintervention groups.
  • Utilize best practice instructional strategies andCSA approvedresearch-based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified students.
  • Model the use of intervention strategiestogeneral and special education teachers.
  • Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of students.
  • Provideprofessional developmentonintervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, buildingadministrator, and parentsabout student progress.
  • Maintainaccuratestudent records, parent communicationrecordsand student progress data reports asrequired.
  • Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies and support researched-based resource material needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support/maintainprofessional growth.
  • Keep records of lesson plans, and records ofstudents’performance.
  • Coordinates data collection as it relates toMTSS.
  • ProvideTier 2and/orTier 3 intervention lessons with fidelity.
  • Reviewing cases in preparation (MTSS packet) fordeterminingeligibility for ESE services.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administratorson completion of MTSS paperwork to reflectstudent’sprogress.
  • Be prepared for all intervention groups withCSAapproved resources that match thestudent’sintervention plans.
  • Attend all data-basedproblem-solvingmeetings, MTSSmeetingsandparent meetingsthat are focused on the students you serve.
  • Works with MTSS Coordinator KerinCasey to ensure MTSS packets are readyprior to ESE eligibility meetings.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as thePrincipalmay fromtime-to-timeassign.
