Responsibilities

The Perioperative Surgical Tech Educator exemplifies professional Surgical Technology practice. This position collaborates with Perioperative Leadership to meet the clinical education needs of the surgical technologists and surgical technology students at the Facility. Serves as a practitioner, educator, consultant, and evidence-based practice leader. Responsible for needs assessment, design and development, delivery and evaluation of in-service programs, orientation, surgical technologist student program and continuing education for surgical technologists and team members in the perioperative areas. Develops educational policies and procedures; serves as a resource person to team members and leadership; participates in quality and performance improvement activities; and serves on special committees as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Certification (NCCT or CST) required. Current BLS certification required. Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant surgical technologist experience preferred. Two (2) years educator experience is preferred. Associate’s degree is preferred. Trainer level certifications are preferred.
