Position Summary
This is a vital role in our organization, the Classroom Opener is the first face that parents and students see when they start their day at Honey Grove! This person must be energetic, welcoming, and a multi-tasker! Between 6:30 - 8:00 am you will be welcoming parents and students comforting children as needed, engaging and overseeing play, and serving breakfast to the students who want it between 7:00-8:00am.
The Lead Teachers arrive between 7
30 - 8:00am, at that time you can expect to assist in activities planned by the Lead Teacher and run some "behind the scenes" activities that help the classroom run smoothly while the Lead Teacher plans, prepares, and executes lesson. Some important behind the scenes activities include preparing meals and snacks, cleaning up after meals, snacks and activities, and diaper changing or assisting in the bathroom.
- EXPECTATIONS Be ready to PLAY with the kids – You need to be attentive and engaged in the classroom, gym, and on the playground.
- On the playground and in the gym, you need to be up moving around, playing games, etc. not sitting.
- In the classroom engage with the kids while keeping an eye on the entire classroom.
- Be dependable – Show up on time daily.
- Be quick and efficient during tasks – Don’t let your phone or conversations distract you.
- Be confident when speaking to parents – YOU are responsible for their most prized possession, make them feel confident in you!
- Be professional – Appear well-groomed, have excellent communication, be respectful, honest, formal, and focused.
