  • SUMMER EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS & COUNSELORS (Ages 16+) Temple Shalom Nursery School (TSNS) ABOUT US Temple Shalom Nursery School (TSNS) is a play-based, nature-rich early childhood program serving children ages 18 months to 5 years.

  • OUR PROGRAM EMPHASIZES Outdoor learning and play every day Nature-based exploration (gardening, water play, animals) Child-led, play-based experiences Creativity, connection, and summer joy Strong, supportive team culture POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking enthusiastic Summer Educators and Counselors (ages 16+) to join our team for an 8-week program (June 22–August 14), with full-time and part-time positions available.
  • This role is ideal for: Experienced educators looking for meaningful summer work (with the potential to continue into the school year) High school and college students (16+) who love working with young children Anyone energized by play, creativity, and being outside KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support a nurturing, engaging classroom or camp group environment Build relationships with children through play, curiosity, and care Participate in outdoor activities, water play, and nature exploration Collaborate with co-teachers, counselors, and leadership Help maintain a safe, organized, and joyful environment

Qualifications

Age 16+ (counselor roles) Experience with young children preferred (for educator roles) Enthusiasm, responsibility, and a willingness to learn Comfort being outdoors for much of the day Strong teamwork and communication skills Jewish knowledge/experience is a plus, but not required COMPENSATION $18–$29/hour, based on experience and role WHY TSNS FOR THE SUMMER?
