Job description

The role of the IDEAL Employment Outreach Coordinator is to collaborate with the IDEAL Assistant Director of Employment to create and manage internship and employment partnerships in the community. Internships and paid employment experiences are a critical component of the IDEAL Program curriculum and outcomes.

The daily responsibilities will include

  • Work with the Assistant Director of Employment to establish new employer partners
  • Observe and support students at internships and paid jobs
  • Keep updated data on employment partners and internship observations
  • Work with students to apply for jobs, interview preparation and support, and through the onboarding process
  • Create training materials for employers related to hiring and effectively supporting employees with intellectual disabilities
  • Train employers on supporting employees with intellectual disabilities
  • Implement strategies and supports for students at internships and employment
  • Other duties as assigned

12 month position- 20 hours/week

Bachelor’s degree required

Previous experience with individuals with disabilities, preferably in transition or work settings, required
