- Function: Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. Reports to the Division Chair of Mathematics and Sciences Teaches math courses and corequisites using traditional and alternative delivery methods to assist students to master concepts.
- Example courses are: College Algebra, Finite Math, Business Calculus, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, Fundamentals of Math, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Differential Equations including corequesites. Demonstrates the ability to work with individuals and students from diverse cultural backgrounds and across a wide range of age groups. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a Master’s degree in Applied Math or Mathematics or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in math. For corequisite, minimum requirements are: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics or Mathematics, Or Bachelor’s degree with 24 credit hours of math at the level of Calculus I or above, Or Bachelor’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Math Or Teaching Certificate with math focus. Special considerations may be given to employment or educational qualifications if Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met. Teaching course(s) face-to-face Excellent written and oral communication skills Familiarity with such Technology as Microsoft Office, Zoom, TEAMS, Learning Management Systems, docu-camera, and computers.
