Position Summary
This position is responsible for helping to ensure the daily functions at Bridges are completed and to take part in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out duties as a member of the team under the direction of the Program Manager 2. Provide a safe, clean, inviting environment for all members 3. Be prepared to serve as host/guide for new or potential members, including giving a tour of the facility, completing membership paperwork, and helping the person feel welcomed and a part of the group 4. Maintain client confidentiality at all times 5. Assist members to develop their own recovery plan, help members understand their diagnosis and steps to facilitate their own plan 6. Organize and lead program groups and recreational activities to help members structure their time, increase social experiences and provide opportunities to practice social skills 7. Assist Consumers who have experience social stigmatization with their sense of self-acceptance, affiliation and belonging 8. Recruit and assist members to volunteer as a way to increase their ownership at Bridges 9. Assist members to plan, make, serve and clean up from lunch each day 10. Work with Data Specialist to ensure accurate data is being collected 11. Willing to continue with own recovery process and communicate personal recovery needs if any
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English language 2. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with good driving record 3. Must carry own auto insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 coverage 4. Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily 5. Ability to give and accept feedback as a part of a team 6. Ability to traverse within the workspace and community frequently 7. Be willing to learn and work with the treatment philosophies 8. Bilingual in Spanish a plus 9. Personal aptitude to work with individuals with a severe and persistent mental health issues 10. A history of a mental health issues with significant progress in his/her own recovery, preferred 11. Must be able to work independently 12. Complete own recover/WRAP plan and discuss with Program Director 13. Willing to learn and follow guidelines and procedure of KHDS Recovery Philosophies 14.
