Job description
Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Catholic PreK2-8 school in Glen Burnie, MD, seeks a part-time Middle School Resource Support Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. This position requires 20 hours per week, with the specific daily and weekly schedule determined collaboratively between the selected candidate and the principal. Rooted in the Catholic faith, our school is committed to forming the whole child academically, socially, and spiritually, while serving a diverse community of students. The ideal candidate will cultivate a love of learning in all students, with a particular focus on supporting those who require additional academic intervention and support.
Essential Functions
- Works closely with the Upper School Resource Director to support students who receive accommodations under the Archdiocese of Baltimore Student Accommodation Plan.
- Assists struggling students in the classroom, in small groups, and during lunch and recess.
- Assists teachers with scheduling opportunities for absent students to make up assignments and assessments.
- Collaborates with the resource team and administration to review and update the status of teacher gradebooks.
- Serves as a resource for teachers seeking coverage to schedule peer observations.
- Works with middle school ELA teachers to support planning and collaboration.
- At times, communicates with parents to share academic progress and other student observations.
Position Qualifications • Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with or teaching children preferred.
- Prior experience supporting students academically through small-group instruction, tutoring, and both push-in and pull-out instructional models preferred.
- Strong knowledge of children’s literacy development.
Pay Range
$25,000 - $30,000, Annualized
