Career readiness facilitator (Young adult focused): YWCA Greater Lafayette – Lafayette, IN Part-Time | Non-Exempt | $18–$20/hour

What you’ll do

  • This role focuses on workforce readiness and skill-building programming for young adults, with an emphasis on hands-on learning, relationship building, and long-term success.
  • Facilitate the Building Interpersonal and Communication Skills for Young Adult Program
  • Deliver young adult programming in schools and community settings during the academic year
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community organizations, and referral partners
  • Provide consistent communication and encouragement to support participant engagement and completion
  • Assist with workforce development workshops in partnership with community organizations and guest facilitators
  • Coordinate scheduling, materials, logistics, and workshop details
  • Support instruction in areas such as résumé development, interviewing, financial literacy, and digital skills
  • Integrate technology such as tablets, laptops, and digital tools into programming
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment across designated service areas
  • Track participant enrollment, attendance, progress, and completion
  • Administer pre- and post-program assessments and monitor outcomes
  • Maintain organized records for grant reporting and program compliance
  • Participate in staff meetings and represent YWCA professionally in the community
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Be on-call as needed and perform other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • We’re looking for someone who can motivate others while managing the details behind successful programming.
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience working with young adults or youth-focused programs preferred
  • Experience in job readiness, workforce development, mentoring, or training preferred
  • Social work or human services background is a plus
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse participants
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and common technology tools
  • Familiarity with community resources and support organizations preferred
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and adjust priorities as needed
