  • Therese Catholic School in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a part time Recess Supervisor for the 2026/2027 school year .
  • The Recess supervisor provides support in supervising children, facilitating activities, and maintaining a safe, fun, and engaging environment during recess.
  • The role is essential in ensuring children are well cared for, engaged in appropriate activities, and supported in completing their homework or other tasks.
  • The shift would be Monday-Friday 9:30-1:00.
  • Key Responsibilities: Supervision: Actively supervise children during recess, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Activity Facilitation: Assist in organizing and leading recreational and educational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and sports.
  • Behavior Management: Promote positive behavior among children, addressing conflicts or behavioral issues as they arise in a constructive manner.

Communication

  • Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding their child’s behavior, progress, and any incidents that occur during recess.
  • Safety &
  • Cleanliness: Ensure that the program environment is safe, clean, and organized. Assist with clean-up activities at the end of the program.
  • Team
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a positive and supportive environment for the children.

Attendance

Monitor and record attendance, ensuring that all children are accounted for during recess.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in child development or education is a plus.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting preferred.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage with children in a positive and supportive manner, basic first aid knowledge is a plus.
