Job purpose

The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for all aspects of the care and education of enrolled children.

Responsibilities

AND DUTIES: Provides services to toddlers including physical caregiving, developmental assessments, and implementing age-appropriate curricula. Serves as the primary teacher for children and ensures safe and healthy learning environments and individualized learning activities for children. Individual may also be designated as a Center Assistant, assigned to classrooms as needed to provide continuity of care for required coverage during staff breaks, staff planning, and full-day operations. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Works well independently and as part of a team. Works well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Strong organizational skills, ability to monitor and prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to regularly lift and carry toddlers who may range in weight up to 45 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, and rise from the floor. Ability to reach with hands/arms and use hands to manipulate, handle, and feel objects. Background check/drug screen. Reliable transportation required.

Schedule

8-hour shift, Monday-Friday.
