Provides a mechanism for exposing clinical interns to innovative/emerging concepts in healthcare practice. Provides mentoring opportunities for staff to facilitate development of teaching and preceptor skills and provides a challenging/stimulating work environment for staff. HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking candidates who have successfully completed an EMR program (Emergency Medical Responder) to join our team as a Clinical Intern in the Emergency Dept. In collaboration with our partners at SWIC, HSHS Emergency Department is offering a 16-week EMS Internship. Candidates must be enrolled in the EMT program at SWIC before the internship starts. During this internship, interns will work under direction of an ED RN and ED Tech 2 performing patient care needs as deemed competent. Your time at HSHS as an intern will count towards your EMT program hours. At the conclusion of the 16-week internship, interns will be considered for ED Tech positions at the hospital.
