Job description

Position Overview

The Learning Specialist will serve as a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Safe Crisis Management (SCM) instructor and will facilitate other trainings as required by the needs of the agency. The specialist will help design and facilitate in-person and virtual training programs, provide project management and support for major training projects and deliver training sessions (i.e. new hire orientation, crisis management, compliance, etc.) within and across the agency. The Specialist will also conduct training on site and in the community. The Learning Specialist, while under the direct guidance and support of the Director of Learning will hold a key role on the Learning and Talent Development team, supporting both professional development and compliance training for staff across the agency. Lite travel may be required.

Position Qualifications

High School Diploma/(GED) with 4 (5) years child welfare experience and 2 (3) years training experience. Associates Degree with 2 years training experience in the field. Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Psychology, Education, Organizational Development or other related field with 1 (2) years of training experience. Must be creative and positive. Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates professionalism and is a team player. Strong writing skills a plus. Residential treatment experience and certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and/or Safe Crisis Management highly preferred. Other certifications (CPR, defensive driving instruction etc.) desirable.
