  • Job Responsibilities
  • Assists in the supervision of learning activities providing assistance and support to students.
  • Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher and reinforces skills introduced by the Teacher.
  • Assists Teacher in evaluating students’ work; works with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing skills based on instructional guidelines.
  • Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining classroom order.
  • Reinforce rules of the school and classroom, escorts students to time-out or Principal’s office.
  • Escorts, supervises and/or aids students during lunch breaks, restroom visits and other activities.
  • Assists in the preparation of lesson plans; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities.
  • Coordinates with media center staff for classroom learning resources.
  • Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, decorations, displays, etc.
  • Maintains student records.
  • Any other task assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with children.
  • Strong communications skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle School.
  • Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance student learning.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check.
