• Hixson Elementary is a K-5 Community School (partnership with Northside Neighborhood House) located in Hixson, TN, just north of Chattanooga.

• Our teachers are collaborative, dedicated, energetic, and hold high expectations for our students.
• We are proud to serve as the school for the deaf for elementary students in Hamilton County, which also includes a PreK Deaf Ed class.
• We have three full time (and one part time) ESOL teachers who meet the needs of our English Language Learners.
• We also have a full-time bilingual Parent Coordinator, a School Counselor, Social Worker, and Truancy Specialist who help meet the needs of our students and families.
• We have a diverse student body which allows our young people the opportunity to build relationships with others.
• We desire teachers who are able to be an effective member of a team, are willing to share ideas and be creative, and are willing to go above and beyond to serve our children!

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection Link to full Job Descriptions What We’re Looking For: Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

Qualifications

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program Compensation & Additional Info: Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00 Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
