Job description

Description Looking for extra income that fits your life, not disrupts it? This is a part-time evening position designed for anyone needing additional income without interfering with a full-time job or family responsibilities.

At the YMCA, we support the whole family, including our staff. In this role, you can earn extra income while your children are welcome to join you in a safe and engaging environment.

Schedule

  • Evenings from 5:30
  • PM to 8:30 PM Up to 12 hours per week depending on program needs and availability Additional opportunities may be available

Position Overview

As part of the Getting Ahead initiative, you will work with school-aged children while their parents or guardians attend weekly classes. You will help create a safe, welcoming space where children can learn, play, and feel supported.

Key Responsibilities

Lead simple, engaging activities for children Supervise and ensure a safe environment Help guide children through transitions such as activities, gym time, and meals Build positive relationships with children and families Work as part of a team to support the program Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring

Requirements

Must enjoy working with children and exemplify and support the YMCA philosophy. Must be 16 years of age or older Team player with a positive attitude Job consists of working with school age children and requires the participation in activities with children. Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings, have current CPR certification and uphold the YMCA employee appearance guidelines. (CPR Training provided by the Y, if needed)
