Job summary
St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perryville is seeking a supportive and dependable Teacher Aide to assist teachers in providing a well-structured, faith-filled learning environment. The classroom aide will work closely with the lead teacher to support student learning, supervise classroom activities, and help maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere grounded in Catholic values.
- Job responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instruction and support learning.
- Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods as needed.
- Help prepare instructional materials, organize supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
- Support students with special learning needs by following accommodations and teacher direction.
- Promote and model behavior consistent with Catholic values, respect, and responsibility.
- Provide general clerical support to the teacher, such as copying, filing, and organizing materials.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions and communications.
- Participate in school-wide activities, liturgies, and faith-based events when appropriate.
- Job requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or coursework in education preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
- Understanding and support of the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Patience, reliability, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively with staff.
- Practicing Catholic preferred, or respect for Catholic teachings and environment
