Job description
- CLinical Therapist Intern/Practicum The Clinical Therapist Intern provides counseling and support services under the supervision of a licensed clinician as part of their academic practicum or internship requirements.
- The intern will gain hands-on experience in providing mental health services, case documentation, and professional development within a clinical setting.
- Key Responsibilities: Conduct individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions under supervision.
- Participate in client intake, assessment, and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and ethical standards.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision, staff meetings, and case consultations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support client treatment goals.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, ethical, and professional standards (HIPAA, NASW, ACA, etc.).
- Engage in ongoing learning, training, and reflection to enhance clinical skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to client care or professional development.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field. Approved by university or academic program to complete a practicum or internship placement. Demonstrated interest in providing mental health services and working with diverse populations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Supervision & Training: Supervision will be provided by a licensed clinician who meets the requirements of the intern’s academic program. Interns will receive ongoing feedback, support, and professional development opportunities throughout the placement. Schedule & Commitment: Flexible schedule based on academic requirements and agency needs. Minimum commitment of 10–20 hours per week. Combination of virtual and in-person sessions may be available.
Compensation
This is an unpaid practicum/internship opportunity designed to fulfill academic credit or clinical hour requirements.
