Position Summary

The principal tasks of the Intervention Specialist focuses primarily on providing intervention and specialized instructional support to students with disabilities needs at ICEF Public Schools. They will develop, implement, and evaluate individual programs for ICEF students who have special academic and social adjustment needs.

This is an on-site position based at a school site; remote work is not available for this role.

Essential functions

  • Student success
  • Diagnostic evaluations for students for the purpose of determining student performance levels.
  • Assists in implementing instruction to students for the purpose of ensuring educational support for IEP implementation.
  • Support student instruction for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student’s goals and objectives.
  • Assist in carrying out services for students for the purpose of providing efficient and effective instruction to students.
  • Classroom aide
  • Provides individual and small group instruction.
  • Assists teachers in carrying out positive reinforcement procedures.
  • Assist teachers with the implementation of student behavior support plans.
  • Daily operations
  • Supervise students as they go to lunch, recess, or other areas on campus, as applicable.
  • Perform clerical work such as tracking service minutes, making copies, and organizing IEPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaboration
  • Collaborates with staff for the purpose of appropriate delivery of services and adherence to compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned Associate's Degree or the equivalent, or higher from an accredited college or university or a minimum of 48 college units or passage of the CBEST
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and verbal communication
  • Strong leadership, team management, and project execution skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Proficient use of Google-based applications
  • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
  • Background check clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a public charter school, charter management organization or public school district
  • Proficiency in using school-based information systems and applications
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
