- SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Youth Programs Department in the daily operations of the 2026 Summer Recreation Program, including the daily supervision of High School, Elementary, and/or Middle School Students. Promotes a safe and productive atmosphere for students to learn and grow. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follows rules, policies, regulations as outlined in the organization handbook Execute written and verbal assignments from supervisor daily Supervising high school aged volunteers, as well as elementary and/or middle school students during fieldtrips, presentations, and in-house activities Facilitating and leading group enrichment projects, athletics, team building exercises, workshops, and creative game play Assigning, reviewing, and evaluating participation and performance and recommending participants for discipline, termination, or retention Modeling exemplary behavior for elementary, middle, and high school students Promoting life and social skills to elementary, middle, and high school students Facilitation of conflict resolution Demonstrated evidence of CPR, Concussion, and Mandated Reporter training will be required for the position (UCC will support certification) Keeping and recording accurate daily attendance records for participants Promoting a safe and productive atmosphere for students to learn and grow Fulfill duties delegated by the director and all other miscellaneous duties as applied KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to varying stakeholders Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including internet navigation, Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications and other basic data systems Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Self-motivated, detail oriented, and proactively manages tasks, projects, and schedules Understands working in a diverse multi-cultural and socio-economic environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to take proactive and creative approaches in resolving any challenges presented while on job duty Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Present information in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to youth and other employees of the organization Excellent communication and leadership skills required Previous experience volunteering or working with youth strongly desired Demonstrated evidence of mandated and required trainings, such as CPR, Concussion, and Mandated Reporter training, will be required for the position (UCC will support certification)

- July 17, 2026 (M-F: 10:30 am-4:30 pm) 25-30 hours per week Work may be occasionally performed in classroom/school/recreational environments. Noise level in the work environment may be moderate to occasionally loud (ex., loud voices during activities in the classroom, recreational, or outdoor spaces). Ability to move around the school environment, including bending, kneeling, standing, walking, going up and down stairs, for extended periods. The role may involve light physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds and participation in recreational activities.
