Fall 2026 Student Mentor: HIS 266: History of Modern Middle East with Professor Almohsen
This position serves one section of the course. Before applying, please make sure you are available for both of the following times:
Tuesday 9: 30-10:50 AM
Thursday 9: 30-10:50 AM
You must have previously taken and successfully passed HIS-266 or a related course at Grinnell College to be considered.
The student serves as a positive academic and social resource to others by promoting academic success, persistence and providing direction to appropriate services and staff. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with shared information and possess strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills.
Duties
Academic Success Center Mentors attend class, meet with supervising professor, create lesson plans, and facilitate weekly mentor sessions for students in that class. This totals a maximum of 6 hours per week.
