  • Preschool Teacher (Full-time) Purple Unicorn is hiring on behalf of the Gordon JCC Early Childhood Learning Center 801 Percy Warner Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37205 The Gordon JCC Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is seeking a warm, dependable and collaborative full-time Preschool Teacher to join our growing team.
  • Our classrooms serve children ages 6 weeks through 5 years, and we are looking for an educator who is passionate about early childhood development and values teamwork.
  • This is a full-time position working alongside a dedicated co-teacher in a supportive, relationship-centered environment.
  • About Our School The ECLC is a play-based, child-centered program focused on social-emotional development, curiosity, and community.

Responsibilities

● Partner with a co-teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum ● Foster a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment ● Support children’s social-emotional growth ● Maintain open and professional communication with families ● Ensure classroom safety and compliance with DHS licensing standards ● Participate in school events and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

● Experience working with young children (6 weeks–5 years) preferred ● Strong teamwork and communication skills ● Reliable, positive and professional demeanor ● Ability to meet Tennessee DHS requirements

Compensation & Benefits ● $19–$23 per hour, based on education and experience ● Candidates with extensive experience and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field may be considered at the higher end of the pay range ● Two weeks off in the winter (December 21-January 1) ● One week in July for teacher in-service and classroom preparation (July 27-31) ● Labor Day, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Passover, Memorial Day & July 4th off (8 days) ● Professional development opportunities ● Free JCC family membership (includes fitness center, pool access, and community programming) If you are looking for a school community where teachers are valued, supported, and encouraged to grow, we would love to hear from you.
