Job description

The Floater is responsible for assisting the classroom lead teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices; and have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center. The Floater is responsible for assisting teachers in supervising all children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.

Responsibilities

  • Helps and supervises children during all activities
  • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
  • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
  • Helps children with mealtimes and clean-up
  • Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily tracking notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned
