(S)He functions as a team member with interdisciplinary staff and works with community agencies to ensure coordinated care for his/her patients. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.
  • Essential
  • Functions: Provide short-term psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families; provide crisis intervention as needed. Conduct risk assessments and mental health/substance use screenings during intake of patient to assess for risk and proper level of care. Complete thorough psychosocial assessments. Responsible for making referrals to external treatment providers when clinically appropriate. Function as an advocate for students and/or resource person and liaison when beneficial to students' treatment. Maintain professional competence by attendance at professional conferences, in-service seminars and other meetings as assigned. Integrate mental health care with medical and social service care. Submit clinical and all documentation of work performance that is timely, accurate and in conformity with departmental requirements. Adhere to all agency and departmental policies and procedures. Work variable hours depending on the needs of the program. Will be assigned to provide clinical support to other teams within the Mental Health Department when school is closed. Attend all meetings and/or training sessions as required. Perform any other special projects/duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor. Other Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor/s. LCSWs supervise students as assigned.

  • Required: Master’s in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Psychology. New York State License to practice as an LCSW, LMSW, LMHC or Licensed Psychologist. Clinical experience with children and/or adolescents. At least one year of work experience as a school based Social Worker. Effective communication and writing skills. Proven track record of organization, attention to detail and ability to respond promptly to requests, anticipate organizational needs, and maintain efficient office operations.
