Job description

  • Under the direction of the Epic Training Manager, this position is responsible for working with Principal Trainers to master facilitation of classroom training of Epic across all applications supported by the COPC training program. In addition to training end-users in classroom settings, the Credentialed Classroom Trainer will work with end-users one-on-one during go-lives, or in other circumstances when assigned. This position will also work with Principal Trainers to help develop classroom curriculum and for testing training environments and system upgrade builds to production. This is an on-site position.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Prepare for class presentations, which may involve paneling or mock runs of new materials.
  • Set up the classroom.
  • Facilitate classes.
  • Cross train in all applications supported by EHR training program.
  • Incorporate feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures.
  • Facilitate one-on-one support training and user settings labs for providers or other attendees.
  • Administer end-user proficiency assessments and in-system checklists.
  • Follow up on any outstanding questions that arise in the classroom.
  • Collect feedback from trainees in class and communicate that information to the Training Manager.
  • Support end users with onsite live support during go lives.
  • Administer post-live refresher, optimization, and skills-enhancement training.
  • Help Principal Trainers update training materials when assigned.
  • Test lesson plans and training environment build.

Education, Licensures & Certifications • Required

  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Required: COPC credentialed in all Epic applications supported by assigned training program(s), or ability to obtain COPC credentialing within 6 months of hire date in job.
  • Preferred: At least one (1) year prior experience in a healthcare related setting
