Job Summary

The Clinical Resource Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for the overall education, development, and training of clinical staff through collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and Clinical Staff Leaders. The CRC will be responsible for conducting individual and group staff educational programs; including orientation, inservices, workshops and development of educational materials. They will also participate in outreach education as requested. The Coordinator will provide hands on training, evaluate competency and perform clinical care when necessary. The Coordinator functions independently and in collaboration with other health care providers. The Coordinator is also responsible for coordination of area specific quality processes.

Education

  • Required:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (exception with CNO approval).

Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing or Education

Experience

  • Required:
  • Three years clinical experience

Preferred

  • Five years department-specific highly recommended.
  • Prior experience as an educator

Position Requirement(s)

  • License/Certification/Registration
  • Required: Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee, BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department

Position Summary

The Clinical Resource Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for the overall education, development, and training of clinical staff through collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and department leaders.

The role may also include direct and indirect patient care.

The scope of this position includes assisting with Nursing Services Orientation, the Nurse Residency program, development and coordination of the annual credentialing process, assisting in education and evaluation of new products. This position is also responsible for designing and implementing in-services and educational programs for Erlanger staff and other health care providers.

The Coordinator is responsible for evaluating staff competency in collaboration with department leadership, to ensure staff members have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and acuity of the patients served. The Coordinator must also be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide education to adult learners.

The Clinical Resource Coordinator must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit�s policies and procedures.
