- Shift: DayThis part-time position for an Occupational Therapy (OT) Clinical Supervisor is in Iona University’s Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic (SLHC) which is part of the Communication Sciences and Disorders department in the New York-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing & Health Sciences. This position includes maintaining an OT caseload of both children and adults. Additionally, the OT Clinical Supervisor position will collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) supervisors and CSD student clinicians to create an interdisciplinary learning environment that prepares students for team-based clinical practice. The ideal candidate should have the ability to balance client care, interprofessional collaboration, and student-facing support while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compliance with clinical policies, HIPAA requirements, and ASHA-aligned best practices. This position will report to the SLHC Director and will support the development and implementation of occupational therapy services within the clinic.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide OT evaluation, intervention, and consultation for a caseload of pediatric and adult clients served by the Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and billing records in accordance with clinic standards and EMR requirements Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) supervisors and CSD student clinicians to support interprofessional education, including: Support co-treatment sessions demonstrating OT and SLP scopes of practice Participate in case discussions and interdisciplinary learning with SLP supervisor and student clinicians Joint treatment planning Case discussions and interdisciplinary learning Support CSD student clinicians by modeling interprofessional practice and offering insight on sensory regulation, motor planning, feeding, executive functioning, and ADLs that impact communication Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and clinic planning initiatives Monitor and maintain therapy materials, sensory tools, adaptive equipment, and OT-specific resources Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure therapy spaces meet clinic health and safety guidelines Assist with scheduling clients for OT services and coordinate session times with the Clinic Director and administrative staff Assist Clinic Director with quality assurance, program development, and curricular activities related to IPE Maintain confidentiality of client, student, and faculty information in compliance with HIPAA and university policies Engage in ongoing professional development to stay aligned with current OT and interdisciplinary best practices Demonstrate professional, respectful communication with clients, families, students, staff, and all members of the Iona University community Other duties as assigned QualificationsREQUIREMENTS Master’s Degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current New York State licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations Experience in sensory processing, motor development, assistive technology, feeding, executive functioning, neurorehabilitation, or related functional areas Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written, and oral communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills Strong ability to work within a team-based, interprofessional clinical environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, EMR systems, documentation platforms, and clinical billing workflows Commitment to evidence-based practice, ethical standards, and client-centered care Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
