Job description
- The Training & Development Specialist leads the development and implementation of high quality, cost-efficient professional development for all Early Learning Center (ELC) programming and functional training initiatives as assigned.
- This position prioritizes the satisfaction of the program being supported and is responsive to the program needs.
- Focus in this role is to embed high quality practices from multiple practice and regulation sources (EHS / HS / PreK Counts/ NAEYC / KeyStoneStars) into a variety of environments as well as to ensure, through data evaluation and monitoring, high quality service delivery in line with KenCrest strategic plan, OCDEL requirements, and the ELC Program’s Logic Model.
- As a key member of the ELC leadership team, the T&D Specialist participates in and contributes to meetings, projects, and operational processes for progression of the strategic plan deliverables, regulatory and quality due diligence, coaching services, training content and data assessments, as well as progressive program growth and enhancements.
- The Training and Development Specialist operates on a hybrid schedule.
- Travel is required to our Early Learning Centers located throughout the Philadelphia region.
- Additionally, in-office attendance is required at our headquarters in Blue Bell, PA approximately 2 days per month.
- Some Essential Functions of Position: · Represent our Early Learning Centers as the leader or facilitator in internal and external trainings e.g. professional conference, provider and funder events, work groups, committee. · Develop an annual professional development training plan for the program in collaboration with the Management team and in response to new initiatives and best practices in the field. · Coordinate Professional Development days and onboard training consultants as needed. · Oversee and schedule Pediatric CPR/ FA/ AED trainings; provide community of practice education and resources. · Develop and update Relias trainings; assess and reinforce compliance and registry activity. · Coordinate, facilitate, monitor, and maintain knowledge of required training for funders, licensing, regulatory, and agency quality standards; review and update annual training plans, CPR/FA/AED, Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse, NAEYC Accreditation, HighScope, TraumaSmart, CACFP, Early Head Start, Reflective Practice, and Leadership Competencies. · Support implementation of practices for HighScope, TraumaSmart, and Quality Assessment tools e.g. early learning standards, environmental rating scales, accreditation tools. · Act as liaison for the State Professional Development Registry; collaborate with Supervisors. · Oversight of the reporting for Act 48 hours to the PA Department of Education and summary reports to staff of their current status and hours as needed. · Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred. Five (5) years’ work experience in Keystone STARS or NAEYC accredited childcare settings required. Experience with the OCDEL training requirements and regulations. Experience with training and development in Inclusive Childhood Education. Experience with developing and managing e-learning platforms. Experience with technology required for training delivery, in person and remotely, small and large groups. Active Pediatric CPR/FA/AED Certification. Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) Certification preferred. IND123 Why KenCrest?
