  • Summary:The Nursing Pathway Success Navigator provides individualized support and guidance to students pursuing careers in nursing, from entry-level certification programs through advanced nursing degrees. This role is focused on student engagement, retention, academic success, and career readiness within structured nursing pathways. The Navigator acts as a coach, advisor, and advocate—ensuring that students remain on track to reach their educational and professional goals.

  • Coaching: Provide proactive, one-on-one guidance to students from entry through completion of nursing pathway programs (e.g., CNA, LPN, RN). Assist with educational planning, goal-setting, time management, and problem-solving. Identify and address academic, financial, and personal barriers to student success.

  • Support: Help students understand program requirements, course sequencing, and licensure steps. Refer students to tutoring, mental health counseling, financial aid, and other support services. Monitor student progress, attendance, and academic performance through early-alert systems and outreach.

  • Outreach: Build trusting relationships with a diverse population of students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Serve as a consistent point of contact throughout the student’s pathway journey. Conduct outreach to prospective students and assist with onboarding, orientation, and transition services.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate student records, notes, and progress reports in student information systems. Analyze data related to student persistence, retention, and program completion. Participate in evaluation and improvement of pathway initiatives.

  • QualificationsRequired: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, Education, Counseling, Public Health, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, case management, nursing, or student support services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for supporting students in healthcare career pathways.

Preferred

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license or healthcare background. Experience working with underrepresented or non-traditional students. Familiarity with nursing education programs and certification/licensure processes (e.g., CNA, LPN, ADN, BSN). Bilingual (especially in Spanish, Tagalog, or other languages common to the community).
