  • Location: Corporate HeadQuarters - Alhambra, CA 91803Under the direction of the Program Manager, the SLS educator is responsible for implementing the Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individualized Service Plan (ISP). With the guidance of area Regional Centers, SLS Educator will focus on increasing consumer independence by providing SLS services to adults with developmental disabilities. SLS Educator shall always strive to provide the best service available to support a consumer's (client) right to choice, independence, self empowerment and community involvement, while helping the consumer to balance safety, risk, and community orientation in an independent and responsible manner. Hours are not guaranteed and based off client needs.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Provide the highest level of ongoing personal care and safety assistance through individual support plans.
  • Assist the consumer with daily tasks such as learning correct bathing, dressing, cooking, and cleaning techniques.
  • Identify, analyze and evaluate the development of specific and realistic goals related to adaptive skills training.
  • Plan, and participate in daily implementation of goals such as performing tasks that identify consumer needs and determine expectations for attaining adaptive skills training.
  • Monitor consumer responsibility in the area of monthly financial budgeting and provide for the identification of learning new skill objectives.
  • Identify barriers that may cause dependency and that provide roadblocks to attaining new skills and goals.
  • Provide comprehensive daily and quarterly written evaluations of consumer development and behavioral interaction. Required to attend monthly in-service meetings.
  • Encourage active involvement and decision making to attain goals and advance consumer to a higher skill level of adaptive skills training.
  • Maintain active communication with Program Manager and represent company during IPP meetings, if needed/requested.
  • Monitor consumer's medication and remain cognizant to health-related behaviors and/or changes.Qualifications
