- Responsibilities:
- Essential: Assist teacher/therapist in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities in accordance with the program’s curriculum. Under the direction of the teacher/therapist will implement specific teaching, behavioral, feeding and diapering/toileting programs. Assist teacher in keeping accurate records of children’s performance. Responsible for daily classroom set-up and clean-up at the beginning and end of each day. Assist teacher in organizing and maintaining the classroom to reflect appropriate pre-school themes and curriculum. Participate in bussing by aiding children on and off buses during arrival and departure times. Responsible for accompanying children to their classroom. Assist volunteers and practicum students by providing ongoing information regarding classroom routines and procedures. Distribute agency memos/mailings into children’s totes and organizes children’s belongings for daily departure. Take attendance during absence of teacher or when requested. Attend all scheduled meetings according to the Administrative Calendar to discuss program development and staff training. Attend weekly classroom team meetings to discuss goals and procedures relating to students and general administration of classroom strategies/activities through a transdisciplinary approach. Meet with the classroom teacher and/or educational director on a regular ongoing basis to review lesson plans, classroom activities, and professional/educational growth. Attend in-service training sessions arranged by ACDS. Maintain appropriate confidentiality of student information according to FERPA and HIPAA regulations and agency and municipality policies concerning social networking, texting, and use of cell phones. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Adhere to all policies and procedures. 1:1 Aide Responsible for implementing IEP goals, functional behavioral assessment strategies and/or Sensory diet for an individual student as per the direction of the trans disciplinary team.

- RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform all other job related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee or as mandated by NYS DOH, SED or municipality regulations. QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED High School diploma or GED New Hires must apply and successfully obtain Teacher Assistant Certificate Level 1 within three (3) months of employment date or reassignment to SED program. Experience working with pre-school population and/or pediatric developmental disabilities preferred.
